Designer Pierre Forssell. Silversmithing – Industrial design – Sculpture in brass. A book by Thomas Lindblad. Pierre Forssell (1925–2004) innovated modern Swedish utility design, and he brought it to international attention. Pierre Forssell was active at Skultuna Messingsbruk from 1955 to 1986, for over thirty years, an era in which he was one of those who contributed to giving the mill a new status in modern design with his modernist design, mainly during the 1960s and 70s the speeches. Forssell succeeded the legendary Erik Fleming at Skultuna. Gradually, he discovered brass and gave it a tight and modern shape. Forssell began his studies at Konstfack in the painting department (with, among others, Bengt Lindström as a classmate) and then transferred to the silversmithing department.
