The much loved character Le Petit Prince was written and illustrated by the French aristocrat, writer, and military pilot Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It was first published in 1943 posthumously in France following the liberation after WW2 since Saint-Exupéry's works had been banned by the Vichy Regime.
