Tove Jansson's incredible Moomin alphabet has so far not received much attention. Her insightful literature and hand-drawn alphabets highlight the possibilities that can be created with the help of letters. The alphabet is based on Moomindale maps, illustrations from Moominpappan's memoirs and on the pictures that Tove Jansson drew for the Red Cross and Unicef in the sixties and eighties.
The initiative "From A to Z with Moomin" brings together charitable organizations worldwide to make reading and writing a more important and enjoyable part of the lives of children, young people and adults.
